Senior Developer(Python/Node)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with 4+ years of experience in web development. This role will involve building, customizing, and maintaining solutions across the Shopify ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript (primary), along with hands-on experience in REST and GraphQL APIs, integrations, and scalable web applications, and the ability to take technical ownership of projects.

Depending on project requirements, you may work across Shopify theme development, custom Shopify app development, and backend integrations, giving you the opportunity to contribute across different areas of the Shopify technology stack.

The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing robust solutions, mentoring developers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Design, develop, customize, and maintain solutions on the Shopify platform, including themes, custom apps, APIs, and integrations.
• Build and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs, third-party APIs, and web services.
• Develop business logic, integrations, and database-driven applications.
• Develop and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
• Work closely with frontend developers, project managers, QA teams, UI/UX teams, and clients.
• Take technical ownership of assigned modules, features, and projects.
• Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and development guidelines.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical and production issues.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Design and implement integrations with third-party platforms, payment gateways, ERP, CRM, and other ecommerce systems.
• Participate in technical discussions, requirement analysis, solution design, and effort estimation.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Collaborate with the team on architecture and technical decision-making.
• Stay updated with the latest web technologies, Shopify capabilities, frameworks, and ecommerce development trends.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in web development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript (primary); working knowledge of Python is a plus.
• Good understanding of web application architecture and software development.
• Strong experience in REST and GraphQL APIs, API integrations, and third-party integrations.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and software design principles.
• Experience with Git and version control systems.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables.

Good to Have

• Prior hands-on experience with Shopify or other ecommerce platforms.
• Experience with Shopify Admin API, Storefront API, GraphQL, REST APIs, webhooks, Shopify Functions, and custom Shopify app development.
• Experience with Shopify theme development, Liquid, and Shopify app extensions.
• Experience with ecommerce integrations such as ERP, CRM, payment gateways, PIM, OMS, and third-party applications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and deployment pipelines.
• Previous experience in a Senior Developer, Technical Lead, or Team Lead role.
